COVID Precautions
The numbers of potential, and present patients and staff testing positive, or likely to test positive for COVID is increasing. This is not unexpected as the state braces for a peak in cases.
Most of our clinical areas have now experienced patients and staff members who have tested positive or have been a close contact of a person who has tested positive.
Firstly, please keep yourself safe by observing:
• Not coming to work if you are showing even one symptom of COVID
• Not bringing your children to work
• Strict use of PPE at a level instructed in previous memo: Escalation of PPE Use
• Strict five moments of hand hygiene
• Not eating at workstations
• Social distancing when taking meal breaks
Your Patients
• Continuously monitor for symptoms
• If patients have symptoms organise a nurse initiated COVID test
• Place the Isolation precaution signage /droplet contact on the door.
• Treat as positive until negative result
• Observe visitors restrictions
If in doubt call the COVID HOT PHONE on 0429 158 136
Our team is here to support you.
Kind Regards
Sandy Blake – Senior Manager Quality Improvement & Patient Safety
